30 paintings in 30 days

I set myself the task of completing 30 paintings in 30 days from march 1-30 2008 and this blog is a blow by blow account of that process. at the end of the 30 days i got a bunch of volunteers together to take the work to the streets.

the 30 paintings were unveiled at art melbourne 08 in april. if you still want your piece of the jigsaw, you'll get your chance at art sydney 08 october 24-26.

day 20 - might have the 1st full finished part

day 20 and the 1st piece is done so by my calculations if i worked on this work one piece at a time it would take 600 days or almost 2 years. I call this morning television logic what do you think the plan is still to finish all 30 in the 30 days but it is going to be tight. :-) back to work

day 19 - life caught up with me

i haven't made a post in the last few day because all of a sudden all my other commitments could not be held back any longer.

I was perhaps a little naive to think that I could just put the rest of the world on hold and paint

well the pressure is well and truly back on and i am on back to the paintbrush this afternoon no matter what

i am determined to stick to the time line these painting will be done in 30 days no matter what

day 16 - a canvas cocoon

it is so hot

i created myself a cocoon of canvases and began work on the 16 - 30 artworks. it was a bit daunting to be face with so many blank canvases again but the heat drove me a little paint crazy and i soon started to dirty them up.

day 15 - half way there

we spent the day at the market. on the painting front we are on track. 15 down 15 to go yeah. may aim for the next 5 days have made a start on the final 15.
